Wow! I’m back from the New England SCBWI contest and I’m exhausted, excited, and inspired.
I searched the bookstore and picked out two books to give away for the solve-the-mystery contest! (It was so hard because I wanted to help promote all of the NE authors! And all the books looked good!)

I love you, Laura, but I have no idea. I think my brain is still fried from the conference. I’m going to read all the posts and clues again and try to take a guess this afternoon!
My daughter guessed it, so I made the give-a-way clue harder, maybe too hard. Just make up your own silly solution then. It really wasn’t meant for anyone to think too hard! Just have fun with it.
I meant to come back to this after reading your post last Friday (and being totally stumped!) but forgot. So I still have no idea. I’ll be back…
It’s kind of like Sherlock Holmes – the clues are there but you might not beable to connect them until you see the solution. That’s okay. If no one can solve it, I’ll pick two random for the winners! No worries.

Here are some of my guesses!
Okay, so the haircuts are important…does that mean that Zelda was mistaken for Chloe? My guess is Barfy Bobby is the killer… he was at the hair salon getting his bushy locks trimmed. Zelda is Agent Chloe’s mentor? Agent Zelda probably sent a dreaded FORM REJECTION letter to Barfy Bobby in the recent past for his Memoirs of a Whoopie Pie Thief. Bobby is the waiter with the gobs of gel in his hair. Not sure about the gorilla… maybe a diversion? And the man in black that gave Zelda the envelope? Was that Bobby too? Curiouser and Curiouser…
I’m going to reread yet again and see if anything else comes to mind. This is FUN!!
My guess, is that Bushy Bobby and the sexy gorilla guy are in cahoots and that Zelda is now being hidden inside the gorilla suit! 🙂
Wild guessing here. There’s some kind of mistaken identity due to the similar haircuts. Zelda was watching Chloe as her agent mentor in secret.
Barfy Bobby holds a grudge against Chloe for not going to the prom with him. He grabs Zelda instead cause they look alike.
Not sure, but I’ve never been good at this. Love the game and idea!
