Friends,
It started slowly. A kitty picture here. A kitty picture there. Here a kitty, there a kitty, everywhere a kitty kitty.
These weren’t normal kitties. They were pictures of kitties dressed up and the pictures had text on them.
Bloggers love them.
Because kitties are so cute.
NOT.
Again, this stretches back to another psycho animal in my life, actually two.
I once lived in a wonderfully cozy apartment (that’s how I choose to remember it) with a particularly nosy brave mole that had me walking around in boots and jumping from furniture to furniture to cross a room.
My downstairs neighbors, from the kindness of their heart, brought me a barn cat. And I didn’t have the guts to say no thanks.
The cat was completely crazy. It whined at my door all night. It stared at me with evil eyes from across the room. It couldn’t retract its claws and loved to jump all over me so I was forced to wear heavy clothing all day.
Yeah, didn’t quite work out for me.
But hey, if you think those kitty pictures are cute. Go for it.
Then I figured out where all the kitty pictures were coming from. My daughter has a google reader account. And guess what she spends her time doing?
Looking at kitty pictures! Mystery solved.
So I’m pretty sure you will never see kitty pictures here on the blog.
I declare this KITTY FREE ZONE!
Phew. I feel a lot better now.
Have a terrific weekend.
Congrats to my friend Addison Moore who’s fifth book, VEX, in her Celestrial series released at number one in several charts with an Amazon ranking of lower than 100! Congrats Addison. Check out Ethereal, the first book, to find out what the craze is all about.
And congrats to Shelli for reaching number 10 on the hot new releases with Untraceable. Come back next week for my thoughts and for some thriller tips from Shelli.
MEOW! *purrs and rolls over so you can scratch my tummy* *waiting….and waiting*
😀
Happy you declared!! Too funny where the pics came from. And I’m sure wearing all that clothes wasn’t too much fun, either.
Have a great weekend, Laura.
I’m not a fan of the kitty pictures, myself, probably because I’m also not a fan of cats in general. Although after the crazy mice episodes we had early in November, I was seriously considering getting one! My littles adore cats, as does my husband, so I can see myself succumbing at some point to owning one – but never ever to the pictures with misspelled text!
(Because seriously, if a cat is smart enough to type, it’s smart enough to spell properly.)
I fear the kitty’s have their claws buried too deep into the internets to ever be prised free. They’re everywhere.
mood
Gak! I’m not a kitty fan, unless of course they are on the grill. (Kidding, just kidding. Put the pitchforks away folks.)Glad we’re on the same side and it’s safe to come back here.
Your blog just moved up in the rankings everywhere for declaring it a “No Kitty” zone! 🙂
I have Addison’s books on my to-read list. I’ve read the first one, and need to buy the rest. Looking forward to them.
LOL I guess my cool links are killing you since I started adding the LOLcats. I used to have cats, but since my husband doesn’t like them, this is the closest I get to having one. 😛
No offense. I do like some of the kitty pictures. But for the longest time I had no clue where people were getting them. I thought they were taking pictures and creating the whole thing themselves. When I saw the website something clicked in my head. Yeah, I’m a little slow. And yes, I’ll still visit your blog even if you have kitty pictures!
I once had a hell cat too, but I still love them (they’re like the Borg). 🙂
I clicked on ya from Creepy Query Girl’s blog post this morning.
I’ve had a few crazy cats, but I’ve had at least one cat since I moved out of my mom’s house at 19. I think it’s because they’re less responsibility than dogs, and I love animals. I had one cat that was more like a dog – waited by the door to go outside and pee, ran around with a sock in his mouth, that kind of thing.
We had to turn one cat into an outdoor cat when he started peeing and pooping on the oriental rugs instead of the litter box. Haven’t seen him since.
Now we just have the one cat, and he’s good though he drives my husband crazy. He sheds a lot, and loves affection but only when he wants it.
In that way, I tell my daughter is like a little cat. 🙂
How about pictures of Bast or Mad-Eye Kitty? Will you visit blogs with those? 🙂 (Sure hoping so!)
I’ve had some crazed cats in my time, but still love them. I love dogs too, but my husband prefers the cleanliness of cats.
I found out recently that a cat I had as a child, my brother had once thrown into the dryer. Now I know why I called him Jitters.
LOL! Aren’t those starter apartments great?
And too funny about the cat. I had cats growing up, but they all met an untimely demise. Thus, I’m not so disappointed that my father-in-law is deathly allergic. 🙂
Ha, I much prefer pictures of cats than actual cats. 🙂
I’m so not a cat person! Glad to hear I’m not alone. And, yes, huge congrats to Shelli!!!!! And you have a wonderful weekend, too.
Damn kitties! What about puppies though?
What??? You don’t like kitty pictures??? I’m not sure we can be friends anymore…
I used to have cats. Now I have dogs. I still love the little balls of fur.
Ha ha, I’m glad it’s a no kitty zone. I’m allergic, first of all. Second, I do like Old Kitty’s blog, because Charlie has SUCH personality.
But all the other kitty picts, which used to be hilarious, are getting a wee bit old. If I see another Kitty saying, “I HAZ A PROBLEM!” then I might upchuck, LOL
I’m more of a dog person but I do have a kitteh on my blog this week! MREOW!
Hi, Laura!
As usual, I arrive at Creepy Query Girl’s Bloffee too early to meet anyone, run off to work, and return after everything’s been eaten and the coffee is cold …
But anyway — don’t get me started on kitty pictures!!!
I love cats. I’ve owned cats for most of my life. But gosh, I really don’t need to see cute kitty pictures on people’s blogs. It’s like going into sugar shock. Too much kitty cuteness can cause blogging diabetes.
Apparently writers are supposed to have cats. I don’t have a cat, so does that mean I’m not a proper writer?!? I always had dogs and guinea pigs when I was a kid. Since I live in a no-pets-allowed apartment, my only pet is my husband at the moment (heehee!). But when we get a house we definitely want dogs and guineas!
aw…. but they are so cute!!! 😉
I am watching my kitties destroy the christmas tree, one ornament at a time. Luckily our ornaments are already of the unbreakable variety. Kittens may be cute, but they are also CHAOS!!
OMG that is so funny! I like kitty pictures, but the real things…not so much. We did have a bunch of them here on our property, in order to get rid of our field mice. But the owls and coyotes got rid of the cats Oy!
My daughter is always sending me links to those kitty vids. So far I have not waffled and watched any. We once had a cat that we called the spawn of satan. I still have scratch mark scars on my arms to prove it. I now have a 15 year old cat who is the coolest dude ever. He has redeemed his species.
LOL No kitties needed, Love your blog as it is!
